English for Customer Service & Retail

This program provides a unique combination of English studies and a paid placement in the Customer Service & Retail industry in Vancouver. You can choose to stay in a Homestay while you are on the course and working or you can choose one of our residence or apartment options.

Course information

Our English for Customer Service & Retail program is ideal if:

  • You are between 18-30 years old
  • You would like to develop your language skills and increase your job opportunities
  • You would like to help pay for your English studies and gain work experience

Program details

  • Study portion of your program includes a Workplace Preparation class
  • Study English at PLI in Vancouver
  • Put your English into practice working in fast food outlets, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, or shops in Vancouver
  • Paid full-time entry-level positions
  • 8, 10 or 12 month programs available
  • Minimum wage: Vancouver $8

Program length: 24, 32, 40 or 48 weeks

Lessons per week: 30 lessons + 7.5 hours of Task team time

Lesson length: 45 minutes

Minimum age: 18

Entry-level requirements: B2-Higher Intermediate+ (or equivalent)

Certificates

At PLI, we have a complete student care system that is specifically designed to help you improve your English production skills. We work with you to provide you with tangible learning targets and constant feedback.

We will also provide you with an English Certificate at the end of your course, provided you have completed at least two weeks of English studies and have achieved an attendance record of at least 80%. Your Individual Student Report will contain your personal course and test results, so you can track your progress and plan for improvement.
